Love Song 10/05/23 Acrylic 20” x 16” When I was younger, I enjoyed watching Disney films and numerous romantic comedies. Princess Diaries was one of such comedies that I recently watched again. The movie's cover gave me the idea to create this work, which is about a girl who discovers that all of a sudden she is a real-life princess. That is why I named this artwork "Love Song,"this painting is about a guy who asked his friend to go out with him to a costume party, but He has a crush on his friend. however she only listens to her music and doesn't even seem to notice him, so he's doing his best to win her over.
Hand of Grace 11-9-23 Charcoal ”15.40 x 10.27” In life, we all do things that in God’s eyes are not right and in all of his love and Glory he still loves us no matter what. He gave up his only son for the salvation of our sins and got Crucified for it. The meaning behind this piece is that no matter how much you have sinned, Jesus can wash away the sins if you repent and start a new life spiritually again. This piece is very important to me because I can see myself reaching out for the forgiveness of God.
Acceptance 12-18-23 Oil pastel ”9 x 12” Many people may think that sadness can be gloomy and depressing, But I think that there is beauty in sadness. Because it comes to show that you are human and as humans nobody is perfect. I decided to base my project on the 5th stage of grief which was acceptance. That is why I decided to draw an eye because the eyes are the window of the soul and how you feel. I decided to use mostly blue to represent sadness and I used brighter colors to represent the happiness and joy which is finally accepting what has happened. I also incorporated the words why and it’s ok throughout the artwork. I decided the word why because I feel like that is a very common word that is used when you have lost someone, I chose it’s ok because when you have finally come to peace you realize that everything will be ok.
